you are a living gospel of courage
a reminder of how brave you are by simply surviving the storm
I wrote this piece for my aching heart a few years ago. I am unsure if I have ever shared it with anyone before. Each word was exactly what I needed to read. This poem was written by my heart who was rightfully concerned I was about to give up.
I uncovered this poem today and realized that I still have some self-love work to do.

untying the invisible knots around your wrists and getting out of bed in the morning to feed your children breakfast is courage gazing into the mirror and looking past the new wrinkles time brushed on you while you slept and reminding yourself of your natural elegance is also courage walking out the front door of your house even though there is a red ghost on your porch shrieking "They'll never understand you!” is also courage
