Welcome to AROUND THE CAMPFIRE
Grab a S'more and warm yourself by a roaring campfire fueled by the kindling of hope and beauty.
Why join the campfire circle?
Because it’s hard to travel in the wilderness all alone. There is so much comfort in knowing that there will always be a spot waiting for you around this campfire with other fellow seekers and searchers whenever you need it.
This place of crackling respite and hand-warming hope is a perfect spot for anyone who wants to safely rest under some virtual stars while I spin you a story of two of my own adventures into the badlands of my heart.
It’s time to start sharing my art outside of social media
I have built my sand castle of poetry on the fickle shores of Facebook and now I fear a tide is rolling in that will make the terrain too inhospitable to stay there. Using Facebook as a vehicle to share my words with the world has been amazing, but I can feel the tent stakes starting to pull up out of the ground.
Basically, it was time to start to find a place to share my words somewhere new and less complicated for my soul.
I want this to be a campfire community where hearts can string themselves together like paper dolls.
Yes, that seems a bit Pollyanna - but it’s true. One of the best things about writing on Facebook was the real community I was able to accidentally build while sharing my words.
I don’t look at writing as a pyramid where, I, the writer, sit atop of, so I can pass my thoughts/dreams/poetry down to readers who are below me. There is no hierarchy in a circle. There is only one path that we are all on together.
This is all an adventure - and I have no clue where we are going - but I can’t wait to share my stories and heart as we sit around the campfire each time we gather around the fire.
Why you should reserve a spot Around the Campfire:
For paid subscribers, I will be posting at least 3 Around the Campfire Newsletters a month that will be packed with brand new poetry and some other little surprises I have in store.
I will no longer be putting my brand new writings on Facebook right away. These new words I am transcribing from the cavern walls of my heart will be here exclusively for a month for paid subscribers before they are ever posted to social media.
Free Around the Campfire subscribers will be offered 1 newsletter post a month of new writing.
Pass the marshmallows, John! I'm ready for a s'more! And where is the string, to string the hearts together with beauty and hope. So ready for that! 🧡
I remember sitting around a campfire in high school… maybe it was a bonfire 🔥 lol
A guy had his feet kicked out near the fire n was the “toasted marshmallow” the rubber soles of his shoes were melting! 🫠 lol …. Sorry, couldn’t resist- the memory just took a life of its own.
Seriously, I love your work n am always moved by your words. 🩵🙏
