Here's the thing, and I am not trying to be blasphemous, but I really hope God doesn't have a "plan" for me.
I’m allergic to pre-destination and fate. I break out on a rash whenever someone tells me that all of my experiences are all part of God’s plan. Yuck.
I want God to be more of an improviser than an engineer. I don’t want our relationship to be scripted. I want it to be a scrabble board of possibilities.
How boring would it be if God doesn’t get surprised from time to time?
Here’s the thing, I want the two of us to be traveling buddies together on an impromptu road trip across the wild world.
No maps.
No GPS.
No destination.
No reservations.
Just two beloveds who aren't afraid of getting lost together or flipping coins at crossroads.
I want God to be able to be jaw-dropped by what’s around the next curve. I want to hear the divine belly laugh at the terrible jokes I make or want to have apple pie for dinner at the truck stop.
God can drive and I'll put my toes out the window was we explore every back road Creation has to offer on an adventure of a lifetime.
No predetermined plans. Just two pounding pulses.
And lots of music. Lots and lots of music.
